I am a 48 year old woman, 100 pounds overweight, and with several conditions that cause pain and fatigue. Which came first, I am not sure, but both the weight and the conditions exacerbate each other. There isn't an area of my body not affected by an injury that did not heal right, arthritis, or fibromyalgia. While my entire spine has genetic arthritis, my lower back is probably the worst off, with 2 herniated discs and lumbar stenosis which is pinching a nerve that comes through my rear hip area on the left. This is excruciating at times--really unbearable. And one of the worst things I can do is to walk on hard surfaces for any amount of time. Truth be told I am done within the first 10 minutes. Even with pain meds! I also had a botched knee surgery and an ankle injury that did not heal right on the right side which always hurt when I'm on my feet, no matter what. I can rely on it.

A friend of mine and I bought a pair of these shoes the yesterday with assurances from the saleman if we don't like them we can return them. We were both planning on returning them! They are so expensive at $239, however we were both curious. The idea something could help drove us to at least try. My friend is a teacher and a waitress and is on her feet constantly at work at 2 jobs, and has terrible pain from plantar's fascitis, and low back and has been to numerous doctors, had orthotics made, physical therapy-nothing works. Same with me.

We wore them around the mall that day planning on switching back to our shoes we came in with, at no more than the two hours suggested. I knew there was no way I'd last that long--I didn't even take my pain meds! When we thought it might be about 2 hours, we found a bench to sit. Mind you this was non-stop strolling up till then. Usually my back would be killing and when I'd sit I would be immobile for a bit. First thing I noticed--no back pain when I sat. What?! How many years has it been to not feel that?? We checked our clocks and FOUR HOURS had passed! We couldn't believe it! And neither of us had ANY PAIN. Zip! Zero! Zilch! We were both really shocked and almost didn't believe what we were feeling! When we put our old shoes back on it felt uncomfortable, unsupportive and flimsy by comparison.

By the time we got home we were ready to walk the dogs, then get dressed and go out! I have not felt like this in many many years. There is no way I am taking those shoes back now! I can even walk fast for exercise, which I haven't been able to do for YEARS. I normally get charley horses in the bottom of both feet when I try to walk fast (of course, no doctor could figure out why). But I absolutely didn't. Walked the dogs again today, same--felt really fresh when I got home. It like fun, not a chore, actually!

I don't know if this will change, but so far I am extremely impressed. I would never bother to write about them otherwise. These shoes are at least worth a try. If you think they are to expensive (and trust me, I almost swallowed my tongue when they said how much!), just think of how many $50 to $100+ walking shoes you've bought and you still felt like crap (I have $140 New balances in my closet I can't even wear!). If you think of it that way these are practically a bargain. What is it worth to not be in pain? ALOT!
